About the Department

The Department of Chemistry was established in 1984 as a supporting department to cater to the academic requirements of both I & II Semester B.Tech. students of Bharath Institute of Science and Technology. In the year 2003, the Department was brought under the scope of Bharath University. It caters to the needs of mainstream engineering departments.

Academic

The broad-based curriculum of chemistry includes the study of certain basic concepts and include Kinetics, organic, physical, environmental, phytochemistry, electrochemistry and nanotechnology. They participate in training and development activities, which keep them up-to-date in the current development of chemical sciences and help to promote advanced research activities. which keep them up-to-date in the current development of chemical sciences and help to promote advanced research activities.

Infrastructure

The chemistry lab supports teaching chemistry lab course to the I year B.Tech. students. It also supports basic research in physics and chemistry.
