About the Department

The Department of English was established in the year 1984 in order to provide support service to the main branch of studies. Since then the students are taught Technical English, communication skills, other techniques to make them employable. This in turn enhances them to communicate effectively, efficiently, vividly, confidently and without any hesitation.

Academics

The department is able to conduct, organize and arrange for National and State level conferences regularly in order to harness the necessity and equip the teachers with latest trends in class room pedagogy. The faculties have published articles in the well known journals related to language, literature and culture. They have brought out resource books for the English Course. In keeping with the continuing quest for developing and enriching the communication skills of learners, the department is conducting group discussion, role play, self-introductory sessions etc. Students are given time and space to pour out their ideas by participating in various activities like essay writing, poetry writing, oratorical and Jam competition through which they achieve as well as develop the major skills of language learning – namely Listening, speaking, reading and writing. (LSRW), including thinking skill successfully.
